Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Papers must be original and must be submitted through the OJS platform of INSTA Magazine. The file submitted must be in Microsoft Word format and must be prepared according to the format defined by the magazine (download it here). The length of the articles should be between 5 to 10 pages. Graphs, tables, photos, maps, plans, among others, may be included, as long as they are part of the maximum page limit of the document. Articles may be submitted in Spanish and English, and will be published in the language in which it was sent.
Likewise, the author must consider the use of APA norms for the writing of references, articles or books.

PROCESS FOR SUBMITTING AN ARTICLE

In order to carry out a correct process for the submission of articles, it is recommended to review the section "About the journal", where you will find information about the journal, as well as the evaluation policies and guidelines.

After reviewing the journal's policies and data, the following process is described below or review the video guide for the author (click here).

1. To submit an article the user must enter the journal and click on the submit button located at the top right hand side of the home page.

2. When registering the user will be able to enter his/her data in the platform (name, surname, affiliation, country, e-mail, username and password). 

3. After filling in the data, click on the "register" option.

5. Once the registration is completed, the user will be able to log in and choose the option "make a new shipment".

6. A screen will be displayed in which the user must fill in the copyright or privacy statements, choose the section, required languages and other data requested by the journal. Click on the "save and continue" option. It is important to mention that all data are mandatory.

7. Then proceed to upload the article file, where a screen will be displayed and you must enter the "article component" and proceed to upload the article file. The "continue" option is placed.

8. The system displays a screen of the uploaded file and indicates the option to continue with the "completed" option.

9. Check that the submission is complete and then continue the process by entering all the information requested for the article (title, abstract, keywords, authors, contributors). Click on the "save and continue" option.

10. To finish, the user must check that all the information is correct and then click on the "finalize submission" button. The system presents a confirmation message and the option "accept" is clicked.

11. After the whole process the platform sends a confirmation email to the registered email address.

12. The user can check the status of the item. There are 4 stages of item status:

-When the article has just been submitted and is waiting for the editor to assign revisions.

13. Throughout the process, the system sends e-mails to the author of the article so that he/she is aware of its status.
